Fun fact: I have a big crush on the playground of lakes located in the greater Brainerd area, as I get to spend a chunk of time during the year retreating to our place near the Whitefish chain. In the summer, the towns come alive with eager Minnesotans trying to soak of the best rays of sun and a good wake. My fishing pole is by my bedside to catch the sunrise in hopes of luring a largemouth bass to the mirrored surface. It is the source of my creative refueling. Every once in while, I get to join a couple that shares that same affinity for "Up North."
Sarah and Mike came to me over a year ago with a dream destination wedding and a creative spin to tie in their love for the lake life. We had fun dreaming and scheming, involving some good mutual friends along the way. The ceremony spilled over along the shore as the 200 gathered watched the sun sink on the horizon. In place of a limo following the ceremony, the couple opted for His and Her deckboats to cruise the lake. As champaign corks popped, the laughter could be heard from across the lake.
