Alison and Josue

Wedding Date: October 28th 2023

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Theodore Wirth Park. It somehow captures all of my favorite parts of Minnesota all in one place. I had the opportunity to photograph my first wedding in their chalet last winter and now I received a call to capture a second. Alison and Josue also fell in love with its rustic beauty and welcoming charm. So much so, they decided to have both their ceremony and reception within the chalet. I was over the moon knowing that I would get to photograph their wedding all day in one of my favorite places alongside some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met.

When I arrived, Alison was just finishing getting ready and excitedly showed off the details of her look while Josue waited in a nearby grove of trees. Alison hugged her family and then she was off to meet the love of her life. Josue’s smile spread across his face as he heard Alison’s footsteps draw near on the pavement behind him. Leaves rustled on the ground as her dress swept over them and she threw her arms around Josue. The autumn leaves bathed the couple in warm colorful light as they walked the trails of this beautiful property.

Back inside the chalet, the fireplace radiated warmth and Josue took his place at the front of the room next to the grand hearth. Alison walked down the aisle to meet him and all seemed right in the world as their eyes met. Candles flickered and gave off a welcoming warm light as the pair exchanged their vows with their loved ones watching on. It was a beautiful scene that felt like it was right out of a postcard or a storybook. When they were pronounced married, they raised their arms with excitement and the whole crowd cheered in celebration. I immediately took them outside to celebrate! We popped a bottle of champagne to a chorus of laughter as it sprayed high into the air.

The sun set off in the distance, but inside the fire was warm and the company was lovely. Candles lit the reception hall while guests enjoyed a beautiful and delicious dinner. After a few toasts to the happy couple, I took them outside for a quick moment under the stars. There’s no better place in the city to stargaze so they warmed themselves by the fire and gazed into the night sky reflecting on this amazing day they just shared.
