Sydney and Augustus

Wedding Date: January 20th 2023

This wedding was years in the making. Not just because they were our very first wedding booked for 2024, but Sydney is the venue manager at Inwood Oaks and when you celebrate weddings nearly every weekend you can’t help but dream up your own. It’s always an extra special honor to be invited to an industry wedding because they really have seen it all and worked with everyone. It’s an honor I don’t take lightly and I wanted to make sure she was able to remove herself from the action and just sit back and enjoy her day. I certainly wasn’t the only one who felt this way as all the vendors were ready to step in and take care of these two amazing people who work to celebrate others. Now it’s their turn to be celebrated!

They wanted to exchange their vows in a small ceremony at a nearby church that was meaningful to them. We started our day at Guardian Angels Catholic Church where Sydney was excited for their day to begin. Augustus waited at the end of the aisle with nervous excitement on his face. I joined these two for an adorable winter engagement sessionom/our-blog/sydney-and-augustus-engagement where I met this kind hearted Minnesota cowboy. His cowboy hat was hung with care and now he stood waiting for his bride. After the beautiful and touching ceremony, the pair met up with their wedding party and family for a little celebration in the chilly winter air. The sun was just starting to set as they walked hand in hand smiling wide at each other.

The next stop was Inwood Oaks where the ceremony space was overflowing with guests, all excited to celebrate with this amazing couple. The space was lavishly decorated with spring tulips that hung from above and dotted around the seats that circled the couple. Richfield Flowers really outdid themselves and the room looked over-the-top gorgeous! I love a ceremony in the round, because it feels like you’re surrounded by love! Paint My Wedding Day was there doing a live painting as they exchanged their vows as guests watched on. The room filled with cheers as they said “I do” and happily walked down the aisle.

The reception room was stunning and even more tulips were decorating the space. The modern cake that perfectly matched the wedding colors from Ink Sweets was the cherry on top of an already incredible view. Then I realized I lost the bride! I was busy capturing the beauty of the room and when I turned around Sydney was gone. Gus laughed and pointed toward the kitchen. There was Sydney, wearing an apron and piping mashed potatoes skillfully onto a plate. She laughed and said she’s worked at everyone else's wedding, of course she’s going to work her own! The kitchen crew teased her a bit and then lovingly sent her out to enjoy her party. They were welcomed to cheers from loved ones and napkins twirling in the air. The toasts were sweet and personal and everyone was quickly using those napkins now to dry their eyes. But between happy tears and laughter, there was Sydney and Augustus. They danced under the colorful purple and blue lights and this cowboy certainly knows his stuff. He twirled her effortlessly and they ended with a classic dip and kiss. Thank you both for sharing your day with me, I’m forever grateful!
